Solar Salvage Services Inc. (Solar) was established in 2006 by a team of salvage experts with over 25 years experi- ence in the towage and salvage industry. Solar is currently one of the leading salvage responders in Turkish waters and is also there to assist the Turkish ship owning community on a world- wide basis with casualty management. Solar are also members of the International Salvage Union (ISU).

After operating under the name of Omur Salvage, the owners decided, with the experience they had gained in towage, salvage and all other marine related business, to re-establish the company in order to expand their activities under the new name of Solar.
